Breast epithelial mucin
Product list
Mucins are normally expressed by epithelial cells and contribute to the lubrication of hollow tubular surfaces such as ducts and the passages in the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems. They also serve as a mechanical barrier to extrinsic physical and biological assaults. They bind to pathogens as part of the immune system. Overexpression of the mucin proteins, especially MUC1, is associated with many types of cancer.
