Human laminin receptor (LamR) is a 37/67-kDa protein that was originally identified as a non-integrin cell surface receptor for the ECM molecule laminin. Laminin-1, a 900-kDa glycoprotein, is a constituent of the basement membrane. Interactions between LamR and laminin have been shown to affect cell adhesion, neurite outgrowth, and tumor growth and metastasis.
