Are you currently facing challenges in developing effective countermeasures against poxvirus infections? Do you need highly specific tools for your research on viral pathogenesis and immune responses? Creative Biolabs' VACV H3 Specific Neutra™ Antibody Products help you develop effective immunotherapeutics and advance your research.
VACV H3, alternatively designated as H3L, represents a highly conserved proteinaceous component prevalent across the vaccinia virus. It is an envelope protein on the viral surface, triggers a strong human antibody response during poxvirus infection, crucial for host defense. Its surface location makes it accessible to the immune system. Consequently, the potent antibody response against this protein may contribute significantly to viral neutralization.
The structure of H3 reveals a glycosyltransferase-like conformation, which is indicative of the enzyme class adept at mediating the addition of carbohydrate groups to recipient molecules. This structure allows H3 to engage with UDP-glucose, a process reliant on the presence of Mg2+ ions. This may suggest H3's potential involvement in the glycosylation of components from either the host or virus during infection. Then, downstream influence protein folding, cell signaling, and immune response.

H3 signaling pathways are still under study. Host cell surface molecule interactions with H3, especially heparan sulfate, are critical. H3 mediates VACV adsorption to cell surface heparan sulfate, vital for viral entry. Modulating this interaction may be therapeutic. Defining these pathways is crucial for antiviral strategies.
Anti-VACV H3 antibodies have significant potential in clinical applications, particularly in preventing and treating poxvirus infections. Here are two examples:
Anti-VACV H3 antibodies are useful for poxvirus research. They help study H3 protein function, interactions with viral and host components, and its role in the viral life cycle. These studies can reveal poxvirus infection mechanisms and identify antiviral targets.
Anti-VACV H3 antibodies are useful for diagnostics. They can be used in assays to detect vaccinia or other poxviruses in samples. This helps monitor vaccines, diagnose infections, and screen for outbreaks.
Creative Biolabs offers advanced solutions for poxvirus therapeutic research. Our H3 Specific Neutra™ Antibody Products have many advantages, such as high specificity and neutralizing activity. This aids in the development of treatments and furthering poxvirus biology.
