Product listFc receptor (FCRN) is known as neonatal Fc receptor and FCGRT. FCRN regulates the transportation and recycling of immunoglobulin G (IgG) molecules in a pH-dependent way. FCRN is associated with many immune diseases such as immunodeficiency and immunoglobulin G deficiency.

Functions of FCRN in Immune Responses
In collaboration with FcγRs, FCRN functions in innate immune activities. The mechanisms of FCRN in reaction with IgG immune complexes (IgG-IC) are shown here.
- Enhances the production of tissue factors and pro-inflammatory cytokines.
- Facilitates the phagocytosis of IgG-opsonized bacteria.
- Promotes in the antigen presentation and cross-presentation.

Treatment Strategy about FCRN in Autoimmune Diseases
One characterization of autoimmune diseases is the excess autoantibody production leading to cell dysfunction or tissue destruction. For its role in recycling the IgG autoantibodies, FcRn plays a central role in autoimmunity. FCRN-related treatment strategy for autoimmune diseases is shown in Fig.2.
- Therapeutic monoclonal antibodies targeting FCRN inhibit the IgG-IC-mediated activation of immune cells and phagocytosis.
- Acting as FCRN inhibitors, exogenous IgGs saturate FCRN and enhance the reduction of pathogenic IgG autoantibodies.
