Description | Clone GEP 1 is a recombinant human antibody that binds to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) ENV. HIV envelope glycoprotein is the surface glycoprotein responsible for viral entry into CD4+ immune cells. During infection, Env is also a major target of antibody responses, which are robust but fail to control viral replication. Immune evasion by HIV-1 Env appears to employ complex mechanisms to regulate the antigenic state presented to the immune system. |
