CD3 Specific Neutra™ Antibody Products
Product listCluster of differentiation 3 (CD3) is a surface structure consisting of four polypeptide chains: δ, ε, γ, and ζ. The multimeric CD3 molecules are involved in the TCR complex assembly, T cell activation, and antigen recognition. The CD3 molecule is a promising target for immunodeficiency disorders and cancer immunotherapy.
Signaling Pathways of the CD3-TCR Axis
The CD3 molecule associates with the TCR via non-covalent hydrophobic interactions and it stabilizes the complete TCR localization on the cell surface. After TCR binds to the MHC-peptide complex, various enzymes and adaptors are activated, and a series of signaling pathways are transducted, as shown in Figure 1.

Treatment Strategies for CD3
The strategies listed below could rescue and boost T cell activity and potentiate the antitumor efficacy.
- Agonistic CD3 molecules targeting the TCR/CD3 axis could rescue dysfunctional T cells and enhance T cell effector function in the immunotherapy of cancers.
- CD3-based bispecific antibodies could redirect T cells with cytolytic and effector activity to tumor cells.
- CD3-based bispecific T cell engagers provide off-the-shelf T cell agonism in cellular immunotherapies for cancer.
- CD3-based aptamers are CD3 agonists for pan-cancer immunotherapies that could enhance and restore T cell-mediated antitumor activities.
Clinical Significance of CD3
A variety of CD3 modulators are currently being investigated as desirable drug candidates, such as anti-CD3 monoclonal antibodies, CD3 T cell engagers, and CD3 specific DNA/RNA aptamers.
