Coxsackievirus B1 (CVB1) is an emerging pathogen associated with severe neonatal diseases including aseptic meningitis, myocarditis, and pancreatitis and also with the development of type 1 diabetes. Like other EVs, the capsid of CVB1 contains 60 copies of each of four proteins, VP1 to VP4, arranged with pseudo T = 3 symmetry.
