Product listInterleukin 17 Receptor A (IL17RA), also known as IL17R, is the receptor for the proinflammatory cytokine IL17A. IL17RA has two isoforms. Isoform 1 is a membrane-bound protein and isoform 2 is a secreted protein. IL17RA is associated with many diseases such as immunodeficiency, psoriasis, and cancer.

Structure and Components of IL17 Receptors
IL-17 cytokine family consists of IL-17A, IL-17B, IL-17C, IL-17D, IL-17E and IL-17F. IL-17RA, IL-17RB, IL-17RC, IL-17RD and IL-17RE are five distinct receptors of the IL-17 receptor family. IL-17RA is the common subunit for all the heterodimeric IL-17 receptors. The IL-17RA and IL-17RC complex is the main receptor for the transduction of IL17 downstream signaling pathways.

EGFR-IL17A-IL17R Axis in Carcinogenesis
As shown in Fig.2, the EGFR-IL17A-IL17R axis plays a crucial role in cancer genesis and progression. In Lrig1⁺ tumor stem cells, the interaction of IL-17A and IL-17R helps EGFR to bind tightly with TRAF4 and then promotes Act1 to recruit c-Src for the activation of downstream pathways such as MEK5 and ERK5. Thus, Lrig1⁺ cancer stem cells proliferate and differentiate rapidly during carcinogenesis.
